SHG Cooperatives

SHG members have a long tradition of creating and managing quasi-cooperative communities in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation. Currently, SHG members run Loyal Heights Homeschool in North Seattle and Tall Mountain Homeschool in South Seattle. These programs offer classes and social gatherings at Seattle community centers. Loyal Heights Homeschool Program (LHH) is a quasi-cooperative community of homeschooling families who gather on Wednesdays at Loyal Heights Community Center for classes, play, and community. LHH is led by a committee of parent volunteers who develop the class schedule and organize events for the families of the LHH community.

Tall Mountain Homeschool (TMH) organizes classes for homeschoolers (from September to June) in partnership with Van Asselt Community Center. TMH is a secular program that welcomes families to come hang out, play and attend fee-based classes on Monday afternoons at their South Seattle location.
